Soroptimist International of LB receives grant funding Healthy Girls Festival April 27
on Festival Grounds
The Arbonne Charitable Foundation presented Soroptimist International of Laguna Beach with funds to support the first annual Healthy Girls Festival, which will take place on Saturday, April 27, at the Festival of Arts grounds. Kay Napier of Laguna Beach, CEO of Arbonne presented Mary Sausen, president of SILB with the check on February 26 in Irvine.
“This is shaping up to be the mother-daughter event of the year in Laguna Beach,” said Courtney Janes, Executive Director of the Arbonne Charitable Foundation. “We are pleased to partner with Soroptimist International and excited to be a part of this educational and inspiring event, especially since the organization’s mission is so closely aligned with our own. The Arbonne Charitable Foundation supports activities that boost the confidence and self-esteem of teens so this is a great opportunity for everyone involved,” said Janes.
The SILB Healthy Girl Festival has been created to help girls recognize and explore the many resources around them to stay healthy in mind, body and spirit.
Mothers and Daughters will have the opportunity to view the film, “Miss Representation.” The event will feature a performance by the high school girls band Yours Truly, dance, interactive Zumba, healthy cooking demonstrations and much more. Many local organizations and businesses will display their products and services in the Expo area of the festival grounds. All event exhibitors are required to be engaged in some aspect of helping girls make healthy choices.
